Pass or Pursue?
If Damian Lillard is unavailable in a potential trade with the Portland Trail Blazers, the Philadelphia 76ers are going to be stuck since no other team in the league can really match their asking price for Simmons.
Philly has made their intentions of getting an All-Star player in return clear, but if nobody else in the league can offer this to them, are the 76ers really going to keep Ben Simmons?
The damage has been done at this point, and keeping him could really result in a toxic atmosphere within this organization, that could wind up tearing it apart from the inside out.
Given all the drama over the last few months, moving Ben Simmons seems more and more likely, but the Sixers have to be careful not to give him away for nothing. After all, Ben Simmons is a 3x All-Star, 2x All-Defensive player, and an All-NBA performer, so he is a top-tier player in this league whether you think so or not.

They may not be getting an All-Star, but the Golden State Warriors can offer the Sixers a lot of very valuable assets, which is why this really is a deal that could raise an eyebrow in Philly.
Andrew Wiggins can play immediately and both James Wiseman and Jonathan Kuminga are not only assets for the future, but possible trade assets to be rerouted somewhere else to bring in another key talent to the 76ers.
Who they could possibly get given their financial situation and Wiggins’ $30M contract is unknown, but the possibility exists for the Sixers by making this trade.
Giving up Ben Simmons and Seth Curry may seem like too much value, but if they are not getting any other deals for Simmons, the 76ers may have to go with the Warriors offer, which really is not that bad in the grand scheme of things.
Verdict: Pursue cautiously
