Pass Or Pursue: Should 76ers Accept Ben Simmons Trade From Warriors?

Ben Simmons, Philadelphia 76ers, Golden State Warriors, NBA Trade Rumors

What the Philadelphia 76ers intend to do with Ben Simmons seems to be the “million-dollar question” circulating the NBA. While there have been numerous trade proposals created for Philly’s All-Star, one really sticks out amongst the others.

Philadelphia would definitely love the idea of trading for Bradley Beal, but he is off-the-table, but what about Damian Lillard? His future is definitely in doubt with the Portland Trail Blazers, and while he has stated he wants to remain loyal to them and win with them this year, it is hard to believe that the Blazers will be a legitimate threat in the Western Conference.

They can definitely be a solid playoff team. Still, the ceiling for this Portland team really looks like it could be the Western Conference Semifinals, especially with the likes of the Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, and Golden State Warriors all looking like true contenders this upcoming season.

If Lillard is unavailable and Portland is not willing to budge, then Philadelphia could wind up being stuck in terms of adding another high-level talent for Simmons, but let’s go back to the Golden State Warriors for a second.

Klay Thompson will be a contending team again, and adding Ben Simmons would even further prove this. They may not have an All-Star talent to trade to Philadelphia, but they definitely could put together one of the better trade packages for the 3x All-Star.

According to The Athletic, there is no word whether or not the Warriors will actually trade for Ben Simmons, especially since their front office seems to be “split” on whether or not to pursue Simmons. Overall though, if they are interested, Golden State can probably put together a really intending trade package for Ben Simmons, especially since they have an abundance of young assets.
