Why Miami Heat Should Pursue Coby White
The Miami Heat didn’t make as many big moves as the Chicago Bulls did, but they certainly upgraded their roster. Kyle Lowry was their biggest acquisition, as they signed him to a three-year, $90 million deal and acquired him via sign-and-trade with the Toronto Raptors.
Goran Dragic, Precious Achiuwa and a future second-round pick were sent to Toronto. While Lowry is an upgrade, the Heat are left without much depth at the point guard spot.
Kendrick Nunn, who has split point guard duties with Dragic the last two seasons, signed with the Los Angeles Lakers in free agency. That leaves the relatively inexperienced Gabe Vincent as the current backup to Lowry.
White, once healthy, could provide some more point guard insurance in Miami. Jimmy Butler is more than capable of running the offense, but having another point guard with a little more experience would make sense.

White’s 2019 draft mate, Tyler Herro, could go back to Chicago, who needs help on the wing. KZ Okpala can be included to match salary while also having a chance to carve out a role off the bench at the power forward spot.
A future pick can be included by the Bulls to head to the Miami Heat as well in case White takes longer to recover from his shoulder injury than originally expected.
