Breaking Down Possible Destinations
Every team in the NBA would love to have a player of Damian Lillard’s caliber on their roster. He is an All-NBA performer and one of the best point guards in the NBA. But, there are only a handful of teams that would legitimately be able to pull off a deal for him.
The New Orleans Pelicans are one team that is a possible destination. They need to find another star to pair with Zion Williamson and he could be it. They have extra draft capital from the Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday trades if Portland wants draft picks as the centerpiece of the deal.
The Pelicans also have Brandon Ingram, the soon-to-be 24-year old that can be the centerpiece of a trade as well. He, along with Kira Lewis Jr. or Nickeil Alexander-Walker could be the base of a trade package.
The New York Knicks are another team to keep an eye on. New York has positioned itself well to make a blockbuster trade. They have some extra draft capital and an intriguing group of young players such as RJ Barrett, Obi Toppin, Kevin Knox and Immanuel Quickley.
