Would this trade make sense for the Charlotte Hornets?
The Charlotte Hornets came into the offseason with a need in the frontcourt. It was not surprising to see this be a priority with the lack of depth. They were aggressive in pursuit last offseason but were unable to land that impact performer down low.
This year, they have added Kai Jones to the mix and that has a chance to be a big move right away. There is also the chance he could take some time to develop before hitting his stride. A veteran like Marc Gasol in the center rotation could provide some needed balance.
Charlotte is deep at guard. LaMelo Ball leads a group that also features Terry Rozier and James Bouknight. Rozier recently signed a contract extension while Bouknight was their first-round pick this year.
Devonte’ Graham is now with the New Orleans Pelicans but the Hornets still have great depth. Now, they should be interested in balancing the lineup on both ends. This can be done with a veteran center like Gasol.
He showed that there is still plenty in the tank but the Lakers might not have the room. Gasol would be able to play a bigger role on a team like the Hornets that could use the depth down low.

The Hornets have a chance to make a run at the postseason next year. They were close this season and are going to be even better with the new pieces in the organization. Gasol could be one of the additions that helps right away as the Hornets continue to build.
