Cam Reddish – Atlanta Hawks

One of the more surprising names that was made available in trade talks this offseason was Cameron Reddish from the Atlanta Hawks. He missed a large part of the 2020-21 season due to an Achilles injury, but Reddish was drafted 10th overall in 2019 and looks to be a very promising two-way player on the wing.

Finding reliable, young wing talents is hard to come by in the NBA nowadays, which is why it is puzzling that Atlanta would look to give him up, but they were dangling him around as trade bait near the 2021 NBA Draft in hopes of acquiring a second first-round pick. No trade was ever made, but the fact that they made Cam Reddish available could mean that the Hawks will move him if they can get a solid return.

This is a team that is coming off a run to the Eastern Conference Finals last season, so if Atlanta is going to trade Cam Reddish, they would almost definitely want a key player and a draft pick in return for him.

If he is to be dealt to a contending team, this would almost definitely be a three-team or possibly a four-team deal in order to get Atlanta what they want since no contending team is going to give up a key player for Cam Reddish.

Another rebuilding team like the Rockets, Magic or Spurs could look to get involved in a trade like this to ship an experienced, veteran player to the Hawks in return for some draft picks and/or young talents. There is always a need for wing players who can not only defend, but score as well, which is why a real playoff threat could show interest in Cam Reddish at some point during the 2021-22 season.
