Golden State Warriors Receive: F Jerami Grant, F Saddiq Bey, C Isaiah Stewart
Detroit Pistons Receive: C James Wiseman, F Jonathan Kuminga, C Kevon Looney, G Mychal Mulder, F Juan Toscano-Anderson
In this hypothetical trade scenario from NBA analyst Chad Ford, there are a lot of moving parts. The Golden State Warriors and Detroit Pistons both shuffle their rosters in a big way in this deal.
The Warriors receive the best player in this deal in Jerami Grant. He provides the help on the frontcourt that they are looking for. He would likely be used as a sixth man in this scenario unless Golden State makes another move including Andrew Wiggins or Draymond Green.
The bench receives a boost as well with Saddiq Bey and Isaiah Stewart. Bey gives Golden State a nice two-way wing coming off a strong rookie season, providing much-needed depth on the wing. Stewart should slide right into a backup role in the frontcourt, possibly even being the team’s starting center.
The Pistons get one of the best trade chips on the market in James Wiseman. Wiseman gives them a long-term building block at the center position to go along with their backcourt duo of Cade Cunningham and Killian Hayes.

Jonathan Kuminga is another high-upside option for the frontcourt after being a lottery pick this year. Kevon Looney, Mychal Mulder and Juan Toscano-Anderson are used to matching salaries but could offer some veteran depth for what is one of the youngest teams in the NBA.
Why is this a trade that these teams would take part in? Here is an in-depth look at that, starting with the Warriors.
