Does this trade make sense for the Pacers?
I mean, if the Indiana Pacers can get Miles Bridges for Jeremy Lamb, they should absolutely pull-the-trigger on this deal, even if they do have to give up a future first-round asset! Bridges is a young player that could immediately fit into their second-unit to be an impactful bench player in their efforts to make a playoff run.
Jeremy Lamb is a player on his way out in Indiana right now and they do not plan to have or make a big role for him during the 2021-22 season. The veteran wing may play earlier on in the season and see more minutes than rookie Chris Duarte, but this will be to prove his value to the rest of the league.
Seeing as he is coming off of a torn ACL during the 2019-20 season and still dealing with some discomfort, he is going to be a guy that plays sporadically this upcoming season, which is why Indiana has been in NBA trade rumors as reportedly wanting to move him.
However, not many teams are going to be interested in Lamb because of this. That and the fact that he is owed $10.5M for the 2021-22 season, which is way more than any team is willing to invest in him.

It is very likely that Jeremy Lamb will begin the 2021-22 season in a Pacers’ uniform, but he certainly will not finish the season in one. Finding the right team to trade him to for some value could be tough for Indiana though.
