Would this trade make sense for the Houston Rockets?
The Houston Rockets were a staple in the postseason led by James Harden for years. The duo of Harden and Russell Westbrook did not work and a new-look front office came in to make some big changes last year.
A lot has since changed for the Rockets, and for the NBA as a whole. However, one fact still remains, the Minnesota Timberwolves still are failing to make the playoffs. Houston had a terrible 2020-21 NBA campaign, but they did land Jalen Green as a franchise-corner out of it.
The Rockets already have a clear-cut guard to rebuild around. Could making a big trade to find him a co-star be the right move to kick things off in a major way? If so, keeping tabs on Karl-Anthony Towns’ availability could be an intriguing option.
Towns has turned into one of the best big men in the league because of his ability to shoot from deep and rebound on both ends. Right now, Houston does not have much in the rotation and they can either make a big deal such as this one or continue to rebuild through the draft.

If the new front office wants to continue to make a splash, they could look for that big trade this offseason. Minnesota is the perfect partner considering they are in the same phase.
