DeMarcus Cousins
Injuries have defined DeMarcus Cousins’ career and the way his career has gone is quite unfortunate. Once being called the best center in the league, Cousins now finds himself as a free agent that nobody wants any part of because of his injury history.
During the 2017-18 season with the Pelicans, DeMarcus Cousins tore his Achilles in his left leg, then during the 2018-19 season with the Warriors, he suffered a major quad injury in his left leg and then during the 2019-20 season with the Lakers, before the season even began, the former All-Star center tore his left ACL, forcing him to miss the entire 2019-20 season.
After a brief stint with the Houston Rockets to begin last season, Cousins was released and then signed by the Clippers, who he actually played quite well for in his limited minutes there, but Los Angeles is not going to be bringing him back.
Now, DeMarcus Cousins’ career hangs in the balance of another team giving him a chance, which is a real shame because the former 4x All-Star was well on his way to being one of the better players in the league for a long-time to come.

Given the respect key talents around the league have for Cousins and the fact that he could be a great mentor to some young centers in the league, I really do not see why at least one team in the league is not willing to give him a shot.
Maybe he cannot play at all or contribute, but having him as the 15th guy on the bench to have in practices and in the locker room could mean a lot for young teams looking to develop in this league.

When I look at teams that should go after DeMarcus Cousins, the Cavaliers, Kings, Magic and Thunder come to mind, especially since they all have young talent on their roster and in their frontcourt that could learn from an experienced veteran like Cousins. At this point, his career could be nearing an end, which is really unfortunate because “Boogie” Cousins was extremely entertaining to watch in his prime.
