How Rajon Rondo Is A Perfect Fit For Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers have let it be known they are looking to add two more players to their roster. They are looking for some point guard help and another player on the wing, which would bring their total to 14.
They plan on keeping the last roster spot open, as they will be players on the buyout market or could execute a two-for-one trade down the line. When it comes to the point guard, they are not going to find someone that can impact the game in the same way Rajon Rondo can.
Right now, the Lakers only have one true point guard on the roster in Russell Westbrook. Kendrick Nunn can play point guard but is certainly a score-first-minded guard. LeBron James is also capable of leading the offense, but they could use another option that will command the offense and Rondo can do that.
He already has experience doing it with the Lakers, as he was part of the second unit during their NBA Title run in the Orlando Bubble. While he may not have as much playing time available this time around, Frank Vogel would be comfortable with him running the offense as he already knows what will be expected of him.

Having another true facilitator on the roster would help keep everyone fresh, as well. The 82-game regular season is a grind and the Lakers have bigger aspirations, as they want to challenge for a title again.
Rondo’s situation is certainly one that the Lakers will keep an eye on, as he would be a perfect fit for them as the third point guard.
