Isaiah Thomas
It was not too long ago that Isaiah Thomas was on top of the basketball world. He was playing excellent basketball with the Boston Celtics during the 2016-17 season, finishing fifth in MVP voting.
He averaged 28.9 points, 5.9 assists and 2.7 rebounds in 33.8 minutes per game. Many expected him to get locked up long-term by Boston but that never came to fruition. Thomas was shockingly traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers as part of the Kyrie Irving blockbuster and injuries began mounting.
Isaiah Thomas struggled with his hip, as the Celtics training staff called it a bone bruise. That was not enough to keep him sidelined during important games, but the injury worsened. Thomas had a right femoral-acetabular impingement with labral tear, eventually having an operation. He has had at least one surgery in four consecutive years as his body has begun to fail him and his basketball career was derailed.
Thomas appeared in three games with the New Orleans Pelicans last season but remains without a team this offseason. Health will always be a question mark when it comes to Thomas, but his heart and determination will never be questioned.

Some teams around the league could use a third point guard. The Los Angeles Lakers have been one team mentioned as a possible landing spot for Isaiah Thomas. He also shared that three or four teams have been in contact with him, with the Celtics being one of them.
