1. Motivated To Show He Belongs
In some of the videos following his 81-point performance at the CrawsOver, Isaiah Thomas is very emotional. He so badly wants to get another shot with an NBA team and has been working hard at doing so. That kind of motivation is something every team could use on their roster.
You know Thomas is going to bring it every day if he were to be signed. He will practice hard, which will in turn make the team better. If you are going up against some talented guys during practice sessions, it will only improve the product when going up against other teams in the NBA.
Winning an NBA Championship is the ultimate motivating factor. Knowing he would have a chance to do so with the Lakers, given how strong the roster is, would be yet another thing driving Thomas.
Los Angeles has had a bit of a reunion tour this offseason as well. Dwight Howard is back for the third time and we saw what he did two years ago during the team’s NBA Finals run, what redeeming himself could produce. Wayne Ellington, Trevor Ariza and Kent Bazemore are also former Lakers that came back this season.

Thomas had an okay run the first time he was in purple and gold, so getting that chance to prove himself once again should light a fire under him as well.
