Brooklyn Nets
The Brooklyn Nets would be the best landing spot for DeMarcus Cousins this offseason. The two things most veterans want, playing time and the chance to compete for a ring, can be provided by Brooklyn.
Cousins could slot right into their rotation at the center spot. The team glued DeAndre Jordan to the bench at the end of the regular season and throughout the playoffs, not appearing in the team’s final 16 games.
With Jeff Green leaving the Nets in free agency, Nicolas Claxton and Blake Griffin will be tasked with a lot of the minutes at center. First-round pick Day’Ron Sharpe could also find his way into the rotation. Adding an experienced player such as Cousins to the mix would put head coach Steve Nash at ease.
The Nets already used their mid-level exception on Patty Mills, but they are as well-positioned as anyone to compete for a title with a Big 3 of Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving. Cousins has experience playing with Durant and Harden already, which will help with the integration process should the Nets sign him.

A role in the rotation and a chance to win a title are two things Cousins is assuredly looking for in his next team. The Nets could provide that and the two would seem to be a good match in NBA free agency.
