Cleveland Cavaliers
Aside from re-signing Jarrett Allen, the Cleveland Cavaliers have been very quiet in free agency and the offseason in total. They did make a move on draft night to bring in Ricky Rubio, adding some backcourt depth, but this is a team that is still looking for ways to add talent to their roster in order to improve moving forward.
Adding Josh Hart is something that could definitely benefit the Cavaliers and is something they have apparently discussed internally. Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com reported that Cleveland has had discussions with the Pelicans about a potential sign-and-trade for the restricted free agent.
Given his abilities to play numerous positions and defend numerous positions, Hart is a guy the Cavaliers could move around in their rotations. They are also thin on talent on the wing outside of last year’s 5th overall pick, Isaac Okoro. Cedi Osman, Dyalnd Windler and Lamar Stevens are not long-term answers for the Cavs, but Josh Hart could be.
By getting Hart, the Cavaliers would finally have a “sixth-man” type of player they can rely on to add some depth to their bench. Garland, Sexton, Allen and Okoro are all young players with a lot of potential to grow, but outside of these guys, Cleveland does not really have many reliable options.

Josh Hart can absolutely be a key addition for them and add that extra talent to their roster that they have been searching for. Cleveland does not have much cap space and acquiring Hart via a sign-and-trade would hard cap them, but this is a move that could definitely pay off down the line for the Cavaliers.
