2 teams who could still consider acquiring Josh Hart in free agency

Josh Hart, NBA Rumors
NBA Analysis Network

The New Orleans Pelicans have made some big moves this NBA offseason to bring in Devonte’ Graham, Jonas Valanciunas, Garrett Temple and Tomas Satoransky, but they still have Josh Hart as a potential free agent to retain. Hart is a restricted free agent that has not seemed to gain much interest in free agency so far.

The 26-year-old wing is not a high-powered scorer or terrific defender, but he has proven to be a key role player off-the-bench for the Pelicans over the years.

In fact, he finished second behind Russell Westbrook for the most rebounds per game by a non-frontcourt player in the league with 8.0 RPG and he also proved useful in terms of offensive rebounding as well, averaging 1.1 ORPG.

Josh Hart is the kind of guy that can come into a game off-the-bench and immediately make a difference because of all of the things he can do. He can score, shoot, rebound and he can also play with or without the ball in his hands, which is why it is kind of surprising to not see teams trying to sign him.

It is not a question of whether or not Hart will get a new deal, it is just a matter of where he winds up ending up. As mentioned in various rumors, his next NBA team may look to use a sign-and-trade to land him, too.

Being a restricted free agent, the Pelicans do have the ability to match any offer he receives, so there is a chance he could head back to New Orleans, but who else could look to pursue Josh Hart?
