2. Sacramento Kings
The Sacramento Kings need to start balancing out their roster. They used their first-round pick on Baylor point guard Davion Mitchell, the second consecutive year they used their first-round pick on a guard. Last year, it was Tyrese Haliburton out of Iowa State that was selected.
De’Aaron Fox, also a point guard, is the best player on the team and signed a long-term extension with the organization before the 2020-21 season. Delon Wright was already dealt this offseason to make space, but Buddy Hield is still in the fold as well.
Having four guards of that caliber take up a majority of the cap space just doesn’t make sense. So, to help balance out the roster, the Kings could get in on the Kristaps Porzingis sweepstakes using Hield as the centerpiece of a deal.
The Kings have a huge hole in their frontcourt, specifically the power forward spot. Marvin Bagley III has not lived up to expectations after being selected second overall in 2018 ahead of Luka Doncic and Trae Young. He could also be part of a package heading to Dallas in exchange for Porzingis, giving both players a change of scenery.
With Richaun Holmes re-signing in free agency, the Kings could slide Porzingis into their starting power forward spot. With Harrison Barnes still on the roster, he could handle the top perimeter assignment in the frontcourt.

The Kings would be a better-balanced team with Porzingis in the starting lineup instead of Hield and Bagley, giving them more of a presence defensively as The Unicorn can still offer some rim protection along with Holmes in the starting five.
