Portland Trail Blazers Receive: F Pascal Siakam
Toronto Raptors Receive: G Anfernee Simons, F Nassir Nittle, F Robert Covington, F Derrick Jones Jr., 2022 first-round pick (top-10 protected), 2024 first-round pick (top-10 protected)
There are a fair amount of moving parts involved in this particular NBA trade scenario. While Pascal Siakam would be the lone player sent to the Portland Trail Blazers, there would be four total players and two future protected first-round picks making their way to the Toronto Raptors.
The return for Siakam would be headlined by the young point guard Anfernee Simons, who is set to be a restricted free agent next offseason. He is coming off a season with averages of 7.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in what was his third year in the NBA.
The rest of the return would feature an established ‘3-and-D’ wing in Robert Covington with some salary fillers in terms of Nassir Little and Derrick Jones Jr.
From a salary cap standpoint, the Raptors would clear roughly $4.0 million in spending for the 2021-22 season by participating in this trade. A high payroll team like the Trail Blazers adding more salary could prove to be costly without shedding some other salary.
