DeMarcus Cousins

After not playing the entire 2019-20 season because of injury, DeMarcus Cousins showed last season with the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers that he can still produce. He played in 41 games, but a majority of the time missed was waiting for the Rockets to find him a new team to play with, not because of injury.

While Cousins is no longer the dominant, top-flight center we saw with the Sacramento Kings and New Orleans Pelicans, he can still provide solid minutes off the bench. He averaged 8.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.6 blocks in only 17.4 minutes per game.

Having a player at the end of the bench that can produce big numbers in short spurts of time would be nice for Chicago. His per-36 production with the Clippers showed he still has plenty to offer, as his stats were extrapolated out to 21.7 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 2.3 steals and 1.0 blocks per game.

There could be some backup minutes available in Chicago behind Nikola Vucevic. The only other center on the roster right now is Tony Bradley, so they could certainly use a third big man to round out their depth chart.
