Boston Celtics Receive: F/C Pascal Siakam, G Goran Dragic
Toronto Raptors Receive: C Al Horford, G Marcus Smart, G Josh Richardson, F Aaron Nesmith, 2023 first-round pick, 2025 first-round pick
Pascal Siakam has recently been viewed as a trade piece and could be a big one this offseason. He would lead the way going to the Boston Celtics, along with Goran Dragic.
Dragic joined Toronto this offseason and it was said that he will not be bought out. That does not take the possibility of a trade off the table. It’s worth mentioning that an NBA investigation is underway looking into potential tampering involving this sign-and-trade deal that landed Kyle Lowry with the Miami Heat.
The Celtics have loaded up on assets that they could use in a trade. This begins with Aaron Nesmith and some draft capital. Nesmith, a wing shooter on a rookie contract, is one of those prospects that has a chance to develop in an extended role.
Al Horford and his lucrative contract would also be taken on by Toronto, along with Marcus Smart and Josh Richardson. Toronto needs a five that can shoot, pass, and defend and that’s what Horford would bring alongside Scottie Barnes and OG Anunoby.

The Celtics face a need to find a starting point guard in order to replace Kemba Walker, who the team traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder and has since signed with the New York Knicks after a contract buyout. Dragic would be an intriguing option.
Let’s take a closer look and see how this NBA trade scenario centered around Pascal Siakam would impact both the Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors.
