Detroit Pistons Receive: G Buddy Hield
Sacramento Kings Receive: C Kelly Olynyk, G Rodney McGruder, F Josh Jackson, 2024 second-round pick (via SAC)
This deal would finally end the Buddy Hield trade rumors. They have been in conversation since last offseason and this would allow Sacramento to get a return on their sharpshooter. The Pistons would be able to get a bit of a deal here.
It seems inevitable that Hield will be traded before too long. There are just too many guards on this team and there’s been a lot of smoke about him being on the move even before Davion Mitchell was added into the mix.
Kelly Olynyk would be the veteran option going back to the Kings. They would also receive Rodney McGruger and Josh Jackson. The Kings would load up on short-term options that would not handcuff them for the future.
The goal for the Kings would not be to add great talent using a trade for Hield. His contract is unfavorable and there is more value in moving on to create more opportunity for the younger guards in Mitchell and Tyrese Haliburton.

The Pistons need to add more veteran talent and one way to do it would be to add a sharpshooter in Hield to pair with Cade Cunningham. Giving up Jerami Grant would not be needed given his trade value. Keeping him and adding Hield would be an intriguing scenario.
Let’s take a closer look and see how this NBA trade scenario centered around Buddy Hield would impact both sides the Detroit Pistons and Sacramento Kings.
