3. C.J. McCollum To Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks came into this offseason wanting to find a secondary ball-handler to play alongside Luka Doncic. They have added some 3-point shooting with Sterling Brown and Reggie Bullock, but they are still waiting on that ball-handler.

There are some reports that the team is hoping to swing a deal for Goran Dragic, who was sent to the Toronto Raptors in the Kyle Lowry sign-and-trade with the Miami Heat. But, they should be aiming a little higher than that if they want to make some noise in the postseason.

The Mavericks should pursue Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard, C.J. McCollum. McCollum is everything the Mavericks are looking for and more.

McCollum has shown that he is a more than capable secondary ball-handler, as he has played that role masterfully alongside Damian Lillard the last few years. He averaged a career-high 4.7 assists per game this past season and would take a lot of pressure off of Doncic in that regard.

In addition, McCollum has turned into one of the most efficient, three-level scorers in the league. He averaged a career-high 23.1 points per game as well in the 2020-21 season, knocking down 40.2 percent of his 3-pointers.

He would be an excellent addition to the backcourt alongside Doncic, giving the team ball-handling, playmaking and a reliable second scorer that Kristaps Porzingis has yet to live up to be.
