Philadelphia 76ers
Amid all of the speculation of a Ben Simmons trade this offseason, there were reports of the Pacers offering Malcolm Brogdon and draft picks for the 25-year-old point forward.
The Philadelphia 76ers reportedly rejected the trade as they are looking for a colossal return for Simmons. If the 76ers is truly seeking at least one All-Star caliber player and multiple first-round picks for Simmons, it’s hard to envision them being able to move on from Simmons anytime soon.
While I’d hope to get more than Brogdon and a pick for Simmons, the 76ers would be best reopening discussions with the Pacers about a potential point-guard swap.
Yes, Brogdon isn’t the athlete or quite the facilitator that Simmons is, but he’s a much better shooter and he’s a capable defender himself. Brogdon posted a career-high 21.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.9 assists on 38.8 percent shooting from beyond the arc.

The floor spacing and defense that Brogdon would bring to a team with Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, Seth Curry, Danny Green, and Matisse Thybulle would make them a threat in the Eastern Conference.
