1. New York Knicks
The New York Knicks are the biggest threat to sign Evan Fournier away from the Boston Celtics. It is something that plenty of teams around the league will have to combat with during the early going of free agency, as no team has as much money available to spend as the Knicks do.
New York could have nearly $60 million in cap space this offseason to play with. They will be major players in free agency and can outbid virtually anyone for any player that they want to target. There is mutual interest between New York and Fournier and with good reason.
The Knicks were one of the teams that were showing interest in Fournier ahead of the 2021 NBA Trade Deadline. While no deal was made at the time, their interest in the Frenchman could very well still exist.
Fournier would provide New York with a much-needed scoring punch. That need grows if players such as Derrick Rose and Alec Burks, two of the team’s most consistent scoring threats, depart in free agency this summer.

Leon Rose must add more scoring threats to this roster to help take pressure off of Julius Randle and RJ Barrett. Having it be a player such as Fournier is a bonus as he can create for himself and others with his playmaking. He is also a good 3-point shooter, something teams can never have enough of.
Expected to land a contract in the neighborhood of $15 million, Fournier could fit nicely into New York’s free-agent plans as they would have plenty of money left to fill out the rest of their roster.
