Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers have a lot of work to do this offseason, especially with Kawhi Leonard now being sidelined indefinitely. Kawhi suffered a right knee injury in Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Utah Jazz and while the injury was downplayed at first, he missed the rest of the postseason.

After the Clippers were eliminated from the playoffs by the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference Finals, it was revealed that Kawhi Leonard had suffered a partially torn ACL and he had surgery on July 14. It is unknown how long Leonard will be out, but there is a lot of talk about him possibly being sidelined through the first-half of the 2021-22 season.

Not only does this put a ton of pressure on Paul George to be great, but this means the Clippers’ front-office will have to get creative with finding ways to replace Leonard. They hope to bring back Reggie Jackson and Nicolas Batum to try and fill some of the scoring void, as well as have Marcus Morris Sr. be a reliable scoring option, but they will need more talent on the wing.

Andre Iguodala can be a guy that plays a handful of minutes every single night and can play his role perfectly, especially with a team like the Clippers who have a lot of veteran talent on their roster already. At this point in his career, Iguodala wants to be on teams that are competing for championships and the Clippers made it to the Western Conference Finals this past season without Kawhi Leonard!

Getting him back at some point during the second-half of the season and having a guy like Iguodala behind him on the depth chart could be exactly what the Clippers need to make another run at potentially making the NBA Finals next year.

They do not have any cap space, so Iguodala would likely be on a minimum contract here as well, but the Clippers definitely can make a strong case for winning immediately. Andre Iguodala would fit right in being a defensive stopper for this team and he is not that bad of a catch-and-shoot perimeter threat in the corner either, which is where he would be on offense for the Clippers.
