Sunday afternoon, the Miami Heat announced that they were not only picking up the $19.4M team option on Goran Dragic’s contract, but that they had declined the $15M team option on Andre Iguodala’s contract. Now, he’s set to hit NBA free agency.
Iguodala joined the Miami Heat during the 2019-20 season via a trade with the Memphis Grizzlies and helped the Heat make it back to the NBA Finals that season for the first-time since 2014.
The veteran forward signed a two-year, $30M extension with the Heat upon arrival, but the final year of his contract contained this $15M team option that the team declined to pick up.
Now, Andre Iguodala finds himself as an unrestricted free agent that will have several suitors on the open market already been featured in NBA rumors.
