The backup point guard spot is an area of need for the Milwaukee Bucks. Jeff Teague, who filled in the role and played sparingly during the postseason, is hitting free agency.

The team will need to replace him and could use a spark on their bench that can provide instant offense. One player that fits that bill is Derrick Rose.

The Bucks had to see first-hand Rose terrorize them when he was in their division with the Chicago Bulls. While some people were beginning to write him off, Rose proved with the New York Knicks that he can still get the job done.

Derrick Rose was a big upgrade for New York in their backcourt when they acquired him from the Detroit Pistons. The team went 25-10 in the regular season with him and he was their most consistent performer in the postseason as well.

Adding a player of Rose’s caliber to their second unit would strengthen Milwaukee. They struggled when Jrue Holiday was sidelined and Rose would give them a veteran to lean on should he miss time again.

Prying Derrick Rose away from the Knicks and Tom Thibodeau will be a tall task, but the allure of contention might be something that draws Rose away from Broadway.
