1. Kyle Lowry

The Toronto Raptors’ most decorated player in franchise history could be on the move this offseason. He was almost traded away at the deadline but finished out the season with the Raptors. The fact they kept him could mean they are intending to bring him back, especially after the team selected forward Scotty Barnes, not guard Jalen Suggs, with the No. 4 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.

There are so many options when it comes to Lowry’s offseason. Some teams look like they are closer to contending, such as the New York Knicks, Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks that could sign him outright.

A sign-and-trade to a team over the cap, such as the Philadelphia 76ers, who almost acquired him at the deadline, could be in play. The teams have discussed Ben Simmons’s trade scenarios extensively, so they could discuss it again.

Or, Lowry could be retained by Toronto as they reload and make another playoff push. This roster is a lot better than their 2019-20 record indicates and they are not as far off from contending as many would think.

A sign-and-trade involving Lowry, so that everyone comes away feeling better about his departure, could be the best outcome for all parties involved.
