Sacramento Kings Receive: F Obi Toppin, F Kevin Knox, C Norvel Pelle, 2021 first-round pick and 2023 second-round pick (via DET)
New York Knicks Receive: G Buddy Hield and 2022 second-round pick (via DET or CHI)
The New York Knicks are a team that could have Buddy Hield on their trade radar this offseason, especially with a need for better outside shooting on the roster. New York is expected to be an aggressive team this summer, with the desire to improve the roster around Julius Randle and RJ Barrett.
Hield would give them a go-to scorer on the offensive end that would stretch the floor because of his efficiency from beyond the arc.
In this trade scenario, the Knicks send Obi Toppin, who they selected in the first round of the 2020 NBA Draft. Toppin didn’t see much playing time due to playing behind Randle, but he showed spurts of potential as a rookie.
The Kings could be intrigued by the idea of adding Toppin due to his athletic ability and the hope that he evolved his outside shooting. As for Knox, he’s still 21 years old despite playing three seasons in the NBA. Knox hasn’t lived up to expectations thus far, but maybe with a larger role, he could find his niche in the league.

The Knicks would also throw in Norvel Pelle to bolster the front court for the Kings — especially with Richaun Holmes likely departing in free agency — and their 2021 first-round pick, along with a future second-round pick. Getting young pieces in Toppin and Knox could be enough to cause Sacramento to consider a trade.
