Minnesota Timberwolves
The Minnesota Timberwolves were the team named in the report about Danilo Gallinari being pursued. The pursuit of Gallinari makes sense as the team needs some help at power forward.
The Timberwolves have been unable to find a player to play alongside Karl-Anthony Towns in their frontcourt and Gallinari could be that guy. His floor spacing would help improve a Timberwolves’ offense that finished the 2020-21 season in 25th for offensive rating. They were also 25th in 3-point shooting percentage, something Gallinari would help turn around.
Very little production came from the frontcourt outside of Towns, as Naz Reid was the only other player that wasn’t a guard on the team to average at least 10 points per game.
Gallinari would help change that, as he has averaged 15.9 points per game in his career, scoring in double-figures every season but his rookie campaign.

The Timberwolves need more veterans like Gallinari to help change the culture for the team, which has suffered a lot of losing in recent years. Minnesota has made only one playoff appearance since losing in the Western Conference Finals in 2004.
