Since rebranding from the Seattle SuperSonics to the Oklahoma City Thunder and relocating to Oklahoma City ahead of the 2008-09 season, the OKC Thunder have been one of the league;s top franchises. From the 2008-09 season to now, the Thunder have won a total of 604 games, which ranks them third in the NBA during this timespan.
Of course guys like Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Paul George, Chris Paul and others all played a big role in the Thunder’s success over the years, but now, this organization is looking to build a young, sustainable core once again like they did with Durant, Westbrook and Harden back in the day.
The Thunder are rebuilding, as they are coming off a season in which they went 22-50, their least amount of wins since winning just 20 games as the Seattle SuperSonics during the 2007-08 season.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Darius Bazley, Luguentz Dort, Aleksej Pokusevski, Theo Maledon and others make up a promising looking young core, but the Thunder will be looking to add onto said core with six draft picks in the 2021 NBA Draft.
