Does this trade make sense for the Sacramento Kings?
Damian Lillard is one of the top players in the game. The Sacramento Kings would have to do a better job of putting a supporting cast around him but the benefit is clear. He would be the piece to solidify the lineup and give them a superstar.
Any deal for Lillard that does not involve De’Aaron Fox is a huge win. This would instantly give the Kings one of the best backcourts in the league. That would put the Kings on the right path to breaking their postseason curse, which is the longest drought in the league by a long shot.
A duo consisting of Fox and Lillard would be a dynamic one that should be capable of competing with the best in the league. It has become clear that teams need to pair stars together if they want to compete and that is what the Kings could do here.
The Kings would need to make quick work to surround them with some helpful complementary talents but keeping Harrison Barnes would go a long way.

The Western Conference is extremely deep and the Kings have fallen far behind. If Liard is added to the mix, it will have Sacramento competing for a postseason spot.
