Does this trade make sense for the Minnesota Timberwolves?

Karl-Anthony Towns was taken with the first-overall pick by Minnesota back in 2015. Since then, Minnesota has made the postseason just once and do not look any closer to getting back soon. Anthony Edwards won Rookie of the Year and could be the new centerpiece of the player for the Timberwolves.

This means Towns could be sent away. He has been in and out of NBA trade rumors for years now but nothing has happened to this point. He has shown a great ability on both ends of the floor and can score all three levels.

A contending team would welcome Towns with open arms at the center position. This is something the Minnesota Timberwolves should look into capitalizing on this offseason in order to gain a lot of assets to properly build around Anthony Edwards going forward.

In return, the Timberwolves would get some more help down low along with a prospect. Draft capital is always beneficial to a rebuilding team and they would get plenty here.

The Timberwolves first-round pick is with the Golden State Warriors and they could benefit from getting one here from Atlanta. There are plenty of trade pieces in Minnesota, such as D’Angelo Russell and Malik Beasley, so will be interesting to see which movie is made by the Timberwolves.
