3 shooting guard options for New Orleans Pelicans this offseason

The New Orleans Pelicans are going to have a lot of work to do this NBA offseason. They need a new head coach after Stan Van Gundy lasted only one season on the job. Willie Green has emerged as the favorite to take over as head coach, and whoever lands the job is coming to a team with some intriguing talent.

Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram are two great building blocks to start with. Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Kira Lewis Jr. are two young backcourt talents that just need an opportunity to showcase their talent. In the frontcourt, Steven Adams and Jaxson Hayes combine to make a good one-two punch at center.

This offseason, the front office will focus on upgrading the roster around their young players. Bringing in veterans to help get the team back into the postseason would make sense, but they also have a top-10 pick that could add more talent to the roster.

David Griffin and Trajan Langdon have their work cut out for them, as there are already stories popping up about Williamson not wanting to be the franchise long-term. That is something the franchise has to change beginning with this offseason or risk having another Anthony Davis situation on their hands.

One area the team could use some help is at shooting guard. Josh Hart, a restricted free agent, could depart this offseason, leaving a big hole on the wing.
