Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks have been rumored as one of the teams that could convince Kawhi Leonard to leave the LA Clippers this offseason in free agency. They have also been a rumored landing spot for Norman Powell in free agency.

Both of those moves would presumably mean Tim Hardaway Jr. is moving on, but the team needs to do everything it can to keep him in the fold. This is likely the last season the Mavericks will have salary cap space for a while, so upgrading the roster while retaining Hardaway Jr. would be the prudent thing to do.

Hardaway has become a reliable scoring threat for the Mavericks and has helped them save some face from the Kristaps Porzingis deal, which they already seem to be regretting.

In the playoffs, he was easily the second-best player on the team behind Doncic, with who he has developed solid chemistry. Dallas has a new head coach this season in Jason Kidd, so some of their schemes will inevitably change.
