Atlanta Hawks Receive: F Gordon Hayward

Charlotte Hornets Receive: F Danilo Gallinari, C Onyeka Okongwu and No. 20 pick

Gordon Hayward signed a massive four-year deal with the Hornets worth $120 million. He continues to struggle with injuries, missing some time this year and Charlotte could put him on the trading block sooner than later.

If that is the case, there will be plenty of teams that are looking to win now interested in the services of Hayward. The Atlanta Hawks could be one of those teams.

Danilo Gallinari signed a deal with Atlanta last offseason and was an important piece during their playoff run. He would lead the return going back to Charlotte, along with Onyeka Okongwu and the 20th pick in this year’s draft.

While Gallinari does not help the Hornets to get younger around LaMelo Ball, Okongwu certainly does and could be a long-term answer at the five spot. Keep in mind, Ball and Okongwu were teammates together during their high school days at Chino Hills.
