Dallas Mavericks
What a difference a year can make. Following a first-round elimination last season by the Los Angeles Clippers, the Dallas Mavericks had a positive outlook on their future.
Luka Doncic was thriving and Dallas was on the rise with Rick Carlisle as their head coach. However, after a first-round exit by the Clippers for the second straight year, the Mavericks fired Carlisle, replacing him with Jason Kidd. And now Dallas knows that Kristaps Porzingis isn’t an ideal fit alongside Doncic.
This offseason is going to be vital for the Mavericks due to Doncic wanting an extension in the not-so-distant future.
If Dallas doesn’t do enough to surround Doncic with talent on the roster, then they could begin decreasing their chances of keeping him long-term.

Besides moving on from Porzingis, the Mavericks should be looking to add a couple of star players this offseason to ensure Doncic is in the best situation to succeed.
