Los Angeles Clippers

Ultimately, it would be in the best interest of the Los Angeles Clippers to re-sign Reggie Jackson to a three-year deal worth around $12M-14M per season. They are tight on cap space as of right now and are going to be paying luxury taxes next season as well, but the Clippers cannot afford to let Jackson go this offseason.

He was invaluable to Los Angeles during their playoff run this year and has proven himself time and time again to be an effective player in their offensive attack. This was very clear when Kawhi Leonard went down with his knee injury.

Without Leonard on the court, the Clippers were left with Paul George and many questioned where the rest of the production on offense would come from. Marcus Morris and Nicolas Batum were the first two thoughts, but Reggie Jackson quickly made himself the second-best option on the Clippers and he thrived in this role.

His relationship with the current players on this roster and the coaching staff are too strong to let him go, which is why the Clippers need to bring Reggie Jackson back. Not to mention, they do not really have many reliable options at the point guard position.

Patrick Beverley and Rajon Rondo will both be in the final years of their contracts and both of these veteran guys saw their roles fluctuate during the course of the season and into the postseason. Jackson’s role only got greater and greater with Los Angeles, which is why they would be foolish to let him sign elsewhere in free agency.
