Reggie Jackson
Prediction: Departs in NBA free agency
While the LA Clippers will not be representing the Western Conference in the 2021 NBA Finals, Reggie Jackson took part in what ended up being an improbable run to the Western Conference Finals. Now, he will end up being one of the more intriguing free agents to monitor in the offseason.
According to our own Evan Massey, the Clippers are ‘favored’ to re-sign Reggie Jackson in NBA free agency, but there will be teams like the Dallas Mavericks and Toronto Raptors ‘to watch’ as well.
The situation is complicated for the Clippers to be able to retain Jackson in free agency. The most the Clippers can offer him is in the ‘$10 million-per-year range’ due to the team having his Early Bird rights. Given how well he performed in the NBA playoffs, a different team could comfortable exceed that mark.

If becomes a matter of whether Jackson wants to continue playing alongside his friend, Paul George, as part of a contender in Los Angeles over taking a potentially substantially greater contract elsewhere.
Of course, there are plenty of intriguing point guard options that will be available in this year’s NBA free agency class, so it’s not a lock that Reggie Jackson will command a major payday. If the top teams in the market end up signing alternative options, Jackson could very well take the Clippers’ offer.
