Atlanta Hawks really do not have much production outside of Trae Young

Outside of Trae Young in this series, production on the offensive-end of the court has been hard to come by for Atlanta. Young has accounted for 31.7% of his team’s total scoring in this series, which may not seem like a lot, but this is definitely a major factor as to why Atlanta has struggled against the Bucks in Games 2 and 3.

Trae Young has cemented himself as one of the best guards in the entire NBA, but he alone cannot take down the Milwaukee Bucks. His 48 points in Game 1 were a big reason why they were able to steal that game on the road, but John Collins, Kevin Huerter and Clint Capela combined to score 48 points in that game as well.

In Game 2, those three only combined for 21 points and in Game 3, they only combined for 32 points. It also does not help that the Hawks really do not have Bogdan Bogdanovic in this series since he is really struggling with an injured knee.

With Bogdanovic having a hobbled knee, he is not much of a factor, which gives the Bucks the advantage on defense. They can essentially play 5 on 4 against the Hawks and find ways to keep Atlanta out of rhythm on the offensive-end of the court.

Danilo Gallinari played well in Game 3, scoring 18 points on 7-14 shooting off-the-bench, but overall, this Hawks team really is not getting much production from anyone else other than Trae Young on offense. You have to be able to score against a team like Milwaukee and if guys like John Collins and Kevin Huerter are struggling, especially with Bogdanovic not doing anything, then there is no chance Atlanta will be able to win.

In Game 4, somebody is going to have to take the initiative, especially with Trae Young banged up, and step up on the offensive-end of the court. Maybe John Collins can stay out of foul trouble and step up, or maybe Gallinari will be able to create a spark early on in the game. Whatever the case may be, Atlanta needs scoring and they need it immediately in this series.
