DeMar DeRozan

DeMar DeRozan opted into the final year of his contract and earned $27.7 million this season with the San Antonio Spurs. There were NBA rumors that DeRozan was unhappy with the situation in San Antonio but he survived the year and will enter NBA free agency.

DeRozan will have a chance to sign wherever he wants and that could be with a team looking to win now like Dallas. He likely will not get a huge deal in NBA free agency considering that he is 31 years old. This does not mean that he does not have anything left in the tank.

DeRozan led the Spurs with 21.6 points per game this season. He is not the three-point threat that Tim Hardaway Jr. is but he is still one of the best mid-range scorers in the game.

This would bring a new dynamic to the offense in Dallas but it all depends on what the front office and new head coach Kidd feels would be most appropriate. DeMar DeRozan would bring experience and leadership to a team looking to take the next step in the postseason.

This would be a deal that benefits the Dallas Mavericks on and off the floor. It is likely that DeMar DeRozan wants to play for a contender at this point in his career and the Mavericks could be looking to turn into that right away.
