Much like their counterpart Lakers, the Los Angeles Clippers are another team that will be hunting for backcourt talent in the offseason. With them in the Western Conference Finals right now, it is hard to say whether or not they will be looking to add another high-level superstar to their roster, but flipping around some contracts and adding Mike Conley would be a big move for the Clippers.

Right now, Patrick Beverley, Rajon Rondo and Reggie Jackson are the “point guards” on this Clippers team and while Jackson has played fantastic this postseason, he is not on the same level as Mike Conley in terms of being a high-level, x-factor like talent in the Western Conference.

Paul George and Kawhi Leonard handle most of the work on both ends of the court for the Clippers, but in order for them to maintain their success and potential contend for championships in future years, then they will need to fix their backcourt.

Patrick Beverley and Rajon Rondo combined for close to $22M in cap space for next season and could potentially be moved in a sign-and-trade for Mike Conley. Whether or not Utah would want these guys is a big question in itself, but the possibility of freeing up cap space to go after a guy like Conley definitely exists for the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Clippers will be targeting a backcourt talent in NBA free agency or on the trade market this offseason, whether or not they win a title, and as a result, Mike Conley should be at the top of their list given his fit on both ends of the floor.
