The Hypothetical Trade (via Sam Quinn of CBS Sports)

Pacers Receive: Ben Simmons

76ers Receive: Malcolm Brogdon, TJ Warren

Obviously, this is a very basic trade idea and it may require more assets or pieces from both sides. However, the core of the trade would look like this.

For the 76ers, being able to get two quality starters for Simmons would have to be intriguing. Warren is capable of scoring the ball in bunches, which is something Philadelphia needs alongside Joel Embiid. Brogdon would provide them with a replacement point guard who can run the offense, shoot the three, and get to the rim as well.

On the other side of the trade, the Pacers would be re-tooling their roster in a big way. They would still need to trade either Myles Turner or Domantas Sabonis, but CBS Sports suggested that they trade Sabonis. A defensive duo of Turner and Simmons would make Indiana a very formidable defensive team to face.

It’s an intriguing deal and one that both sides could have issues with. But, it would work and could be of interest.

Let’s take a closer look at why the Pacers should consider this trade and why they might just be interested in trading two quality starters for a struggling version of Ben Simmons.
