Does this trade make sense for the Miami Heat?

The point guard position is arguably the most important in today’s NBA. Teams need that elite option running the show if they want to get to the championship level. This is something that Miami has not had in recent years and is why they have fallen just short of their goal.

Russell Westbrook would give them that elite option. He has proven that he can be the No. 1 option within an offense or play alongside other stars. Westbrook passes and rebounds at a high rate which is the reason he is the all-time leader in triple-doubles in NBA history.

This move falls right in line with what Miami has done in the past in terms of bringing in superstars. They are a win-now team that seems to be a player or two short and Westbrook would solve that right away.

The Miami Heat have plenty of options to look at in the offseason even some of the top NBA stars who were supposed to be available are off the market. They were linked to Giannis Antetokounmpo before he signed a long-term extension in Milwaukee. Now, they will look at other options and Westbrook could be at the top of the list.
