Does this trade make sense for the Denver Nuggets?

The benefit for the Denver Nuggets is obvious in this one. They are a team that has seen success over the years but have not been able to come out of the West and compete for a championship. Nikola Jokic turned in an MVP season this year and the front office could be looking to bring in a new weapon at the top of the offense.

Right now, there are few better than Damian Lillard. The Nuggets have Jamal Murray at point guard right now but Lillard is on another level. He is an option that would require a majority of the attention once he crosses half court. This is where the Nuggets would have plenty of options offensively.

Nikola Jokic would have more space to work with as the defense focuses on Damian Lillard. It would be difficult to give both the attention that they need to stop. Lillard has taken his game to the next level in recent years, especially with his jump shot. Now, it is time that he plays for a better team in a position to win a title.

Denver is one of few teams with the assets to pull off a trade like this one. It would be the ultimate blockbuster and one that fans should welcome with open arms.
