What to expect from the Miami Heat this offseason?
There really will not be much to discuss about the Miami Heat this offseason until after the draft in July. Free agency and trade rumors will be floating around this organization all summer long, but until we know if the Heat will be bringing back both Dragic and Iguodala on their team options, we really do not know how much cap space the Heat will have to play around with.
If both Igoudala and Dragic return to the Heat on their team options for next season, then it is expected that Miami will only look to re-sign Robinson and Nunn in free agency, since they will not have much cap space to do anything else. This move could also signal that Miami will look to make a trade for another big name since they will have tradable contracts with Goran Dragic and Andre Iguodala.

However, if both of the Heat’s veeteran players contracts are declined for next season, then the Heat will have a ton of room to potentially bring in a third superstar player to their roster. There are a ton of options for Miami to play around with right now, but there will not be much clarity on their situation for a while.
Draft wise, we know the Heat have no picks this year and they will likely not be adding any picks during the draft, which will mark the 4th time since 2012 that the Heat did not make a single selection on draft night, not including draft night trades which resulted in them “drafting” a rookie.

This offseason is going to be very important to the sustained success of the Miami Heat for years to come and if they do not make a big move to add more talent to their roster in the offseason, then they should not be considered a championship contender heading into next year.
Jimmy Butler cannot do everything on his own and while Bam Adebayo is an All-Star caliber player, he is not on the same level as Butler in terms of being able to carry the Miami Heat to a victory. They need that third, high-caliber talent on their roster and unless they get that, the Heat are going to be set up for playoff disappointment yet again.
