Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers could be in store for an interesting offseason in the coming months after losing the in the play-in tournament this season. Even amid the injuries, and the other issues on the roster, the Pacers elected to fire Nate Bjorkgren just one year after naming him the franchise’s head coach. Regardless of who the next head coach is, they could be coaching an entirely different roster next season.

Following a disappointing year, the Pacers are faced with asking themselves who they can build around among Malcolm Brogdon, Caris LeVert, T.J. Warren, Domantas Sabonis, and Myles Turner.

My money is on the team siding with LeVert and Sabonis, leaving the rest of the guys as possible trade candidates this summer. In the event that Brogdon is shipped elsewhere, Indiana could definitely use a gritty guard like Davion Mitchell to replace him.

Entering the draft, the Pacers are currently projected to hold the 13th overall pick, which likely isn’t high enough to make Davion Mitchell their selection. Getting Mitchell as the team’s future point guard would give Indiana another young player to build around as they enter a new era in the organization’s history. Maybe the Pacers offload one of Brogdon, Warren, or Turner to move up in hopes to land Mitchell on draft day.
