Kristaps Porzingis

This NBA trade rumor has been there since last offseason and it could happen in many different ways. The Dallas Mavericks originally brought Kristaps Porzingis to town in hopes of him becoming that needed star next to Luka Doncic. Injuries have impacted his tenure in Dallas but he could also be growing some disgruntled feelings of his own.

The Mavericks were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs once again this year by the Los Angeles Clippers. Following the series, rumors came out that Kristaps Porzingis felt like a second fiddle next to Doncic as opposed to a star next to him. We know that Porzingis has been full of drama since his days in New York and it seems to be continuing.

The Mavericks could end up trading Kristaps Porzingis on their own or the big man could demand a trade. Either way, the fit in Dallas has not worked out the way either side has hoped. Doncic is the franchise player for the Mavericks and they could go in a different direction when building around him.

Porzingis has not built a great reputation with his off the court antics paired with a troubling injury history. Nonetheless, there will still be teams interested because of his age and skill set. When we get to the offseason, it would not be surprising to see Kristaps Porzingis looking for a different home.
