New York Knicks
The New York Knicks are going to be shopping for big names in the offseason — or at least they better be. The Knicks shocked the league and finished with 41 wins this season. They landed the fourth seed in a weak Eastern Conference but were extremely disappointing in a first-round series against the Atlanta Hawks where they were eliminated in five games. We learned that Julius Randle might not be the star that everyone thought and that the Knicks still need to improve.

New York needs a franchise player and some help at the point-guard position. Damian Lillard would check both boxes right away and completely bring basketball back to Madison Square Garden. The Knicks got a small taste of success this season and should look to build off it this offseason. The Knicks have two picks in the first round of the draft this year and all of their picks moving forward.
As far as players go, the Knicks have plenty of young options they would be able to move. Few teams will be interested in Frank Ntilikina or Kevin Knox but they could be thrown in as sweeteners. Mitchell Robinson, Obi Toppin, and Immanuel Quickley could be players discussed for Lillard. In extreme cases, it would even be worth it to lead the return with R.J. Barrett.
If anyone has an issue with trading Barrett for a player like Damian Lillard, they are crazy. Lillard is a superstar that would improve the Knicks immediately. He would keep them in the top half of the Eastern Conference moving forward and give them that finisher that they need. New York finally has some assets and could look to use them in a big way.
