The Orlando Magic drastically altered the organization’s plans before the 2020 NBA trade deadline. They unloaded two franchise mainstays, Nikola Vucevic and Aaron Gordon, on deadline day.
After saying for weeks that they would not trade All-Star Nikola Vucevic, they decided to trade him to the Chicago Bulls. Gordon was shipped to the Denver Nuggets in a less surprising move, as he was being shopped previously.

While the Nikola Vucevic move was shocking, Aaron Gordon was being shopped previously, so his trade wasn’t as much of a surprise.
Orlando can now start anew around their other young players. They have an intriguing group that includes Markelle Fultz, RJ Hampton and Cole Anthony in the backcourt, with Mo Bamba, Wendell Carter Jr. and Jonathan Isaac in the frontcourt. What is missing is some help on the wings.
